Centered, Collaboration between Tom Hall and Simón Granell Centred was a collaborative project born from the long-standing friendship between artists Tom Hall and Simón Granell, transforming a simple sheet of paper into a site of shared, daily experimentation. For 58 consecutive days, the two artists each performed the same task: pointing to where they believe the centre of an A4 page lay. Without measurements or external verification, the gesture depended entirely on proprioception—an internal negotiation between body, paper, edges, scale, and the shifting conditions of the moment. What began as a task gradually became a ritual of embodied attention, a pause in which the artists’ spatial awareness renewed itself through contact with the blank surface. The repetition transformed the act from a task into a quiet ritual of attention, an embodied pause in which the paper became a continually renewed site of encounter.
